Abstract

This is a replication study to investigate the validity (factor structure) and reliability (alpha internal consistency, and test-retest reliability) of Fumham's Economic Locus of Control Scale (ELOC) for a Southern African black group. Three factors emerged, viz. an 'Internal' factor, a 'chance' factor and 'Powerful Others'. Alpha coefficients and test-retest coefficients indicated sufficient levels of reliability. Possible reasons for different answering patterns as well as possible application areas are discussed.

Opsomming
